We’ve stayed open through this pandemic, and we’re committed to staying open and serving our families. Due to concerns over the new school year, we’ve decided to reopen our Academy and offer Kindergarten. There are a lot of changes to our policies, including heighted cleaning and sanitizing and a stricter illness policy for our children and staff. Stay tuned for more exciting things to come!

Happy Thanksgiving!
First we are very thankful that the Lord has provided us with this ministry! We are able to minister to our community by providing jobs to wonderful Christian ladies, we minister to the parents by providing them with loving care for their children, and we minister to the children in our care with hugs, love, and a Godly education…
Truth is, we are all so blessed that you have entrusted the care of your children to us! We have the best jobs in the world!
We pray that you have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving weekend!

Summer is just around the corner!
Graduation is finally over… Our students worked so hard, and graduation was a huge success!
So, now what? Well, Little Light is open year round so business goes on as usual! The last day of school for the Bedford County Schools is this Friday, so our summer program for the school age starts on Tuesday (yes, we are closed on Memorial Day!). Our summer programs are different from the rest of the year. Instead of following our curriculum, we have a theme of the week! Teachers plan fun activities and crafts to go with those themes. We also make sure that we continue to review what we’ve learned during the year, as well as continue to work on our fine motor skills.

Save the date!
Mark your calendars now! Friday, May 8th, is graduation! Our Pre-K class has worked so hard this year and they are ready to take the next big step… Kindergarten! Come help us celebrate the hard work the boys have put in this year! And yes, I said boys! All of our graduates are boys this year, so it is especially fitting that our theme is “Running the Race”. 1 Corinthians 9:24 says “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain.” I’m very excited to see where the race will lead our young men!

Thanksgiving!
Our Thanksgiving party is this Wednesday, November 27, from 3:30 – 4:30. The children will not be having regular snack time that day. If you’d like to help bring food or craft supplies for the party, please ask one of the teachers. Parents are encouraged to attend; hope to see you there!
Also, please remember that while we are closed on Thanksgiving to give our employees time to spend with their family, we are OPEN on November 29 for our regular hours of 6AM to 6PM! If your child will be present on Friday, please let Ms. Kimberly know as soon as possible.
In addition, please note that any closings or delays will be broadcast on WDBJ7 and WSET, as well as posting on our Facebook page.
Please enjoy a safe and thankful holiday this year. We know that the staff at Little Light are thankful for each and every child in the Little Light Family!

Safety First!
While the state regulations require us to have one person on staff at all times that is certified in CPR, it is our policy that all members of our staff are currently certified in CPR, both infant and child. Despite the substantial cost to do so, we felt it necessary to know that we are, at all times, able to administer CPR in the unlikely event that it is needed. So, this weekend, we were all certified in CPR!

Big News!
We have big news! We listened to your feedback and have changed our hours to better serve you. We will now be open from 6AM to 6PM, making us open longer than any other daycare in Bedford!
This is a big change for us, and we are excited at the doors it opens. We appreciate all the feedback you have given and ask that you continue to give us feedback as we prepare to start our new school year. As a side note, where did the summer go?!
If you have not already liked us on Facebook, please take a moment to do so. We are updating it daily with fun information on what the children are doing. We will also be continuing to expand the website to keep you informed of upcoming events, as well as pictures of the changes we are making inside the building.
Thank you again for your support and feedback during our time of transition. It’s been an exciting and eventful summer, and we look forward to the fall as we continue to grow and expa
