Little Light uses A Beka preschool curriculum for children ages two through five. We agree with their mission statement that our job is to teach our children to see the world through God’s eyes.

Our curriculum will give our preschoolers the knowledge and skills that they will need as they begin school, as well as give them the biblical basis

To develop the important readiness skills they will need as they move to Kindergarten, they will:

  • Be further introduced to the alphabet
  • Learn numbers 1-10
  • Develop concentration and attention span
  • Learn shapes, sequencing, categorizing, and problem solving
  • Develop fine motor and visual discrimination skills
  • Encourage quiet play at home, at school, or while traveling on the road

We use the “Fruit of the Spirit” as our daily guide for behavior. This includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We also teach obedience, respect, thankfulness, honesty and problem-solving skills. It is our desire to excel in the children that they are unique creations of God and allow them to develop the spiritual gifts that He has placed within him.

In accordance with learning respect for authority, we teach the children to refer to all staff members as “Miss _____” or “Mrs. ______”. We would appreciate your cooperation with this at home also.  Example and consistency help them develop this habit.

Our preschool program is a year-round program. This means that academic instruction continues in the summer. Parents who choose to withdraw their child for the summer months will need to provide a registration/deposit fee, due August 1 each year, if they wish to secure their child’s place for the following Fall. However, priority will be given to those students who are enrolled for the entire year.
